"Ik ben Amerikaanse"

Well, here it is: a new blog.  Those precious few of you who were patient enough to follow my previous madcap European romp (via http://dulcinea-corre.livejournal.com/) may be pleased and/or relieved to know the following:

1.  Posts to this blog will contain VISUAL STIMULATION (read: photos!).
2.  Posts to this blog will not (likely) contain spontaneous spurts of Spanish.
3.  Posts to this blog will sometimes be written by Edward Monrad.
4.  Posts to this blog will, hopefully, gain semblance of order and cohesiveness.
(5).  Posts to this blog will contain fewer parenthetical streams of consciousness than my previous blog.  I promise.

With the above disclaimers visible to God and everybody, we present:  Living in Amsterdam:  The 1,000th Blog on the Subject Written By Americans.

But look.  We're unique!  I'm white.  Ed's white(r).  I speak Spanish.  Neither of us speak Dutch.  We love bicycling, running, cooking and eating good food, cats and kittens, music, and long walks on the beach.  And tomorrow, or possibly the next day, I'll start talking about the interior stairwell of our first apartment in Amsterdam, a subject upon which I am likely to expound multiple times in the next several months.

  1. Ha! I'm commenting on my own post because I think it's hilarious that I wrote "we love... cooking and eating good food, cats and kittens...". Chortle. I'm not changing it.
